At least once every three months. That’s the cleaning guideline you should follow to keep your refrigerator’s interior shiny and safe from bacteria. But … are you sure you know what are the best techniques and products to achieve success? We tell you in these 5 cleaning tricks with which (at last) you will shelve those undesirable bugs while you boast of the fridge.
1. BICARBONATE AND WATER: THE IDEAL MIX
To clean your fridge thoroughly you don’t need any magic product, you just have to dilute 2 tablespoons of baking soda in 1 liter of warm water and pour the mixture into a spray bottle. Next, remove shelves and drawers, spray the inside of the refrigerator with the spray and clean each corner with a damp cloth. To finish, use another cloth to dry the surface until it is shiny. See how easy?
2. CLEAN THE DRAWERS AND DRAWERS
To carry out a comprehensive cleaning of the fridge, you will have to remove all the shelves and drawers, as well as any removable parts. Before proceeding, allow them to reach room temperature.
Depending on its size, you should wash the pieces in the sink or in the shower for greater comfort. The best products to achieve optimal cleaning? Hot water and neutral soap (the more ecological, the better). Finally, drain the water, and dry them well with a cloth before returning them to the fridge.
3. GET A TOOTHBRUSH
If the fridge has difficult corners that you cannot reach with a sponge to use, get a toothbrush and … rub!
4. DO NOT FORGET ABROAD
Once you have the interior of the refrigerator ready, it’s time to review the exterior. The quickest, easiest, cheapest and most successful method is to mix water with vinegar and pass the solution through the doors and sides.
Things change when it comes to the rear, since you have to be very careful not to damage the components. To remove the dust you can use the vacuum cleaner, and even use one of its accessories to reach the most difficult areas, but always with touch.
5. ADD A HOME AIR FRESHENER
Finally, if you want to keep the good smell in the fridge, place some lemon slices on a small plate. You can also use a glass with lemon juice or with baking soda. As you can see, there is no more natural air freshener!
